Public Relations

The purpose of the Asia‑Pacific PR (Public Relations) committee is to develop and maintain meaningful relationships with the public—professionals, media, institutions, and communities—so that NA’s message can reach those still suffering throughout our diverse region.

Our Message

“That an addict, any addict, can stop using drugs, lose the desire to use, and find a new way to live.” This healing opportunity needs to be visible and accessible to anyone who may benefit from it .

Our Approach

Guided by spiritual principles from our traditions and concepts, we foster attraction through open, respectful communication, never self‑promotion .

Our Mission

01.

Raise awareness and credibility of NA by engaging thoughtfully with healthcare providers, counselors, faith groups, media outlets, and government bodies .

02.

Ensure accurate information about NA—including who we are, how to find meetings, and how to connect—is readily available via flyers, PSAs, phone/online lines, clinics, events, and digital media.

03.

Maintain a positive, anonymous image in media and public settings, respecting the Eleventh Tradition by never sharing personal identities.

How We Do It

Coordinate with local Area PR committees to exchange resources, expand reach, and develop joint initiatives like billboard displays, workshops, and media campaigns.

Provide trained PR volunteers to handle inquiries, speak at health‑care/justice settings, staff public events, and manage helplines.

Align with Fellowship Development efforts to support emerging NA communities, ensuring our recovery message is culturally and linguistically inclusive. The Asia‑Pacific PR committee exists to build trust and visibility for Narcotics Anonymous across the Asia‑Pacific region. We do this in respectful collaboration with public institutions, professionals, community groups, and media—always guided by our spiritual principles and traditions.

Our goal is that every addict seeking recovery can easily find our fellowship, understand our purpose, and feel welcomed.

We commit to thoughtful communication—sharing clear, accurate, and inviting information, maintaining personal anonymity, and working with professionals to improve public awareness.

Through cooperation with Regional PR and Fellowship Development efforts, we support emerging communities, actively coordinate region-wide campaigns, and foster connections that enable sustainable growth.

Ultimately, our service helps NA realize its primary purpose: to carry the message of recovery to the addict who still suffers.
